KISS Freaks Special Delivery Magazines

When KISS Freaks Special Delivery was in production it was one of the most original fanzines ever created. It certainly help up the ante in the KISS fanzine world.

The main goal was to get them out quickly! The worst thing about fanzines is the speed at which they are released. Often by the time you receive them they are out of date. KISS Freaks Special Delivery was shipped within a week of the latest news. Overall 19 issues were released in its two years of existence, making it at the time the fastest growing fanzine in the KISS world.

The magazines were full of the same stuff that had made KISS Freaks.com the ultimate place on the planet for KISS related features online. Interviews, features, news and lots of fan submissions make it one of the best KISS fanzines ever put out.

Now these fanzines are available electronically, since they are no longer in print for just $2 an issue.

KISS Creatures of the Night Collection!

KISS Alive - released in 2000 -- was the first "realistic"-style set of figures McFarlane Toys created of the band and it was a smash hit with fans. Those fans, of course, immediately demanded more. And here it is: Our newest KISS action figure line is KISS Creatures of the Night, based on the 1982 album Creatures of the Night. Photo reference from the ensuing world tour was used in the sculpting of these figures.

KISS Freaks Note: I don't remember them wearing those outfits during 1982. Look more to me like the Unmasked outfits from 1980. Anyway they look very cool! Can't wait!

More on the Indianapolis KISS Expo

The Indy KISS Expo 2002 was a smashing success. I met so many cool people that I've talked to online. (HI KATHY, TERRI B., and JENDELL) The highlight of the Expo (for me) was meeting "The Goddess Of Thunder", also known as Leigh. I also got to introduce her to Bill Starkey, founder of the KISS ARMY. He's an awesome guy.

Here's the link to the pictures from me: http://flamingyouth.tripod.com/indyexpo2002/ Everyone take care, Allen

KISS Freaks Note: I have also added more pictures from fans at the Expo to our Indianapolis KISS Expo 2002 review page. Stop by and check it out.

KISS Playing The Lane Bryant Fashion Show
Just returned from the "The Big Kiss: Lane Bryant and Kiss Rock the Runway Spring Collection 2002" fashion show held at the Roseland Ballroom in Kiss' (and my) hometown of New York Rock City. It was "excitingly strange"

Gene Confronts NPR Host

Never One To Hold His Tongue New York Post's Starr reports that the "quiet and high-minded" NPR radio waves were "shattered" earlier this week by a "name calling confrontation" between KISS frontman Gene Simmons (he of the legendarily lengthy tongue) and NPR's "Fresh Air" host Terry Gross.

Simmons was on the show to promote his new book, "KISS And Make-Up." He told Gross: "The notion is if you're going to welcome me with open arms you also have to welcome me with open legs." Gross responded, "That's a really obnoxious thing to say." "No it's not. Why should I say something behind your back that I can't tell you to your face?" said Simmons. Apparently, the interview was so "controversial" that NPR has not made it available on its website, where it posts "at least portions" of all "Fresh Air" shows. At one point, Gross asked Simmons about his "studded codpiece." His reply: "It holds my manhood, otherwise it would be too much for you to take. You'd have to put the book down and confront life." Gross fired back: "Has it come to this? Is this the only way you can talk to a woman, with that shtick?" Said Simmons: "I was going to suggest you get outside the musty place where you count the dust particles falling around you and get out in the world and see what everybody else is doing." Gross: "Having sex with you?" Simmons: "Well, if you choose, but you'd have to stand in line."

Gross then asked Simmons about his claim to have had 4,600 sexual encounters "so far." She told him she would "like to think the personality" he presented on the show was an affected one, and that Simmons is "not nearly as obnoxious" when he is at home or with friends. Simmons told Gross: "Fair enough. And I'd like to think that the boring lady who's talking to me now is a lot sexier and more interesting than the one who's doing NPR, studious and reserved" (2/6).
