June 8, 2002 brought the first ever KISS Expo to Evansville by way of Allen Tate. The Holiday Inn at the airport in Evansville was the scene. Kind of cool how the place was setup. There was a open sunroom type conference area. The only drawback was the hotel swimming pool on the other side of a four foot divider wall. So if you stood up and looked over the wall you got to see all of the people with more wrinkles than the band in nothing but their spandex fitting swimsuits. I'm still having nightmares.

The tournament is player-vs-player with the standard 'ladder' style elimination structure. Each match is pre-arranged and opponents are selected randomly. The opponents play only one (`) match, the victor being the first to twenty (20) frags, or kills, or the one with the most kills in the time span of twenty (20) minutes. Matches will be monitored by a pre-selected undivided referee, who will only count the kills. All spectators would be in the spectators booth, no where else. They are not allowed to fire. Chatting is permitted, encouragement to both players is greatly welcomed. After the match is played, the referee will send that score to the tournament advisor. After that weekend's matches are complete and sent in, they'll be tallied and sent in a Tournament Report via the MailingList.

After getting true-to-the 1970s facelift for the film 54, it had a mini comeback, but most recently serves as home of Caberet. Whenever the subject of cities that hold history pertaining to the hard rock band KISS is brought up, one first tends to think of Detroit. Then there are cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Evansville.....huh? Say that again; Evansville?

That's right. It may be hard to believe, but our fair city has it's place in KISStory. There are many stories. Their New Year's Eve show at the coliseum was one of the first. Ace Frehley and Peter Criss traveling in a limo that hit a deer was another. There are local women who have "dated" members. The very last KISS concert in the state of Indiana was at Roberts Stadium.
